This policy explains what personal information NYC Containers ("we", "us") collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors, quote requests and customers in the United States.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number and company name.
- Delivery details: delivery address, ZIP code, site notes and photos you send of your site.
- Order details: products ordered, quotes, invoices and correspondence.
- Account details if you create an account: login email and a password, which is stored in encrypted form.
Information collected automatically
When you use the site, our servers and tools record technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed and referring pages. Some of this is collected through cookies, described below.
Payment information
Card payments are processed by Shopify Payments at checkout. Card numbers are entered on Shopify's secure checkout and are never stored by us. We receive confirmation of payment, the last four digits of the card and the card type.
How we use information
- To prepare quotes, confirm stock and arrange delivery.
- To process orders, payments and refunds.
- To contact you about your order or delivery date.
- To answer questions and provide support.
- To keep records required for tax, accounting and legal purposes.
- To improve the site and understand how it is used.

Our store platform
This site runs on WordPress with WooCommerce. WooCommerce stores order, customer and account data in our website database. Where enabled, some WooCommerce features may share limited data with Automattic, the maker of WooCommerce, for example for usage tracking or connected services.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the business:
- Delivery carriers and depots, who need your name, phone number and delivery address.
- Payment processors, to take payments and prevent fraud.
- Modification partners, when you order a modified container.
- Service providers for hosting, email, analytics and accounting, under contract.
- Authorities, where required by law.
Cookies
Our store runs on Shopify. Shopify sets cookies the site needs to work, such as those that keep items in your cart and keep you logged in, and, if you accept them in our cookie notice, cookies that measure store visits. We do not use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features, such as the cart, may stop working.
How long we keep information
We keep order and invoice records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Quote requests that do not become orders are deleted after 24 months.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to legal record-keeping duties. Residents of some states, including California, have additional rights under state privacy laws. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will verify your identity before acting on a request.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is completely secure, so please contact us if you believe your information has been misused.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
